Blogs offer amazing ways to present multimedia information, but you still have to tell us about it.  Blog Writing Is About Editing: A great idea does not translate automatically into good writing.  Blog Paragraphs Are Short: Blog writing lends itself to shorter sentences and paragraphs for easier reading on a web page.  Blogging that gets noticed and linked to is all about seeing things in a new light.

Comment

Comments Are Content: Make sure comments speak well for your post, your blog, you, and your readers.  Comment boxes are one of the best things on the internet.  This post is a great example… I read the tips and agreed with most of them, but what was really entertaining and educational were the feedback in the comments after the tips.  Clean out trash and inappropriate comments, and definitely get rid of comment spam.

Bloggers

Bloggers have no equivalent of the Press Complaints Commission, no hard-copy archive to avoid revisionism (apart from the Wayback Machine and that isn’t perfect).  As you gradually build your content, and as you study what successful bloggers have to say about the art and science of blogging….  A very small percentage of bloggers really research what they write.

Writing

Writing can be a much deeper form of communication than face-to-face.  More importantly, write with keywords to help your reader know exactly what you are writing about.  Make Your Words Timeless: Blog writing isn’t like words you throw out into the air and expect them to vanish.  Use Descriptions in Images and Links: Blog writing isn’t limited to just the words.  A picture may speak for itself, but you have to do the writing for it.  It’s the editing that clarifies your writing so the idea comes through.  ”Use Nouns and Synonyms: When you are writing about it, you can add some of this to it to help it along.
